A Very Hall Summer - 2015

Can you believe summer is almost over?! After summer 2014 seriously decked the Halls (trapped at an airport, travels to a deadly hotel in Oakland-no joke, cars trapped on canyon cliffs, etc.) we decided to keep this summer on the light side. Plus we've both been blessed with awesome jobs and can't take weeks off for cRaZy adventures. :) So, here's the Hall Summer of 2015!

The Move!

Yup, that's right! We moved from our little shoe box apartment into a house! And it's super cute! We live in a 100 year-old house that's the perfect little grandma house. It has skeleton key doors, awesome wallpaper and color schemes, is huge! and is just all around charming and we couldn't be happier. :)

California and Disneyland!

A couple weeks after graduation, we took a five day trip to California! It was SO much fun! We relaxed the first day, then we went to Disneyland (Lindsay's first time!), then we went to the aquarium and finished up with weekend wedding trip (congrats to the happy couple Sam and Bruna!).
Disneyland!                                                      I fell in love with a Sphen doll there. I miss him.
It rained most of the time we were at Disneyland, but that worked to our advantage! We rode every ride after a few hours plus some! We were freezing after but it was totally worth it.
The Aquarium!

We pet sharks and jellyfish! And Lindsay caught this awesome moment with a seal on video, though her finger kind of covers the lens...whoops. :) https://goo.gl/photos/zyMtSwUiirDHfUzQ9

Then here's us at the wedding. Yeah, we're supes cool. :)
Also, Mike was nice enough to give us a GPS while we were visiting, though we were in for quite the shock the first time we used it...

California was awesome and we can't wait to go back for another visit!

Water Fights

This video explains all.

Birthdays, Jurassic Park, Game Day and the Fair

Addison, such a sweetheart, woke Lindsay up with flowers on her birthday! Her cousin's wedding was on her birthday so we went to that then spent the day after hanging out at the mall, relaxing and just being ourselves.

We went to the midnight premier of Jurassic Park. Check out this awesome shirt Lindsay made for it:
Lindsay got Bang! for her birthday (awesome!) and we recently bought Star Munchkins and Betrayal at the house on the Hill so we had a huge game day! 12 hours of games and much fun! We even had a sheriff hat and cowboy music in the background to really set the mood.
When the Cache Valley Fair and Rodeo comes to town, the Halls come out to play! We went to the rodeo and had a blast! Then looked around the fair and bough natural candles and soap, of course! No fair junk food for us! Just yummy smelling soaps and candles made from organic natural ingredients. And also sheep eating Addison's fingers.

August Fun Day! Dinosaur Park and Toads Adventure Zone

We decided we needed a fun day so we took a day off work to just have fun! We went to dinosaur park and an amusement park. We had SO much fun! It was the best day!
This is a t-rex tooth!! It was as big as Addison's head! Scary!
We were walking down a dark display of fossils when we heard a loud roar and may or may not have jumped...Turns out they were just robots.
"Look! A unicorn! I knew they existed." Addison

Cute dinosaur!
We really wished we were kids so we could go on the slide. :(
Mystery Trail. It was scary.

Addison's awesome tour of a dino cave.
After dinosaur park we enjoyed go karting, laser tag marriage battles, miniature golf and batting cages. Addison was pretty good at the batting cages.

It was such a fun day! Oh! And we also became responsible adults and got our own car insurance!
Quote of the day: "We're fiscally responsible adults! Now let's go look at some dinosaurs!"

In Other News

Addison started the GAPS diet this summer and is doing fabulous!! He's getting back his energy, filling out and getting strong!! Seriously, he can climb a double rope by jumping with his hands! And climb the ropes upside down. Food is his medicine, and look how good it looks:

New favorite meal

Lots of bone broth with egg yolks, butternut squash, veggies, sauerkraut, tea and meat. It's been fun to get create new recipes and meals. One of Addison's favorite meals was cooked up when he was really craving tacos so Lindsay figured out a way to make it happen by using squash pancakes as tortillas, making butternut squash fries, homemade sour cream  and sauerkraut. We also really enjoy what Lindsay calls BSHG Pie - basically it's shepherds pie made with butternut squash on top instead of mashed potatoes. Another new favorite and staple in our lives is now cauliflower rice. We make it all the time now.
What diet wouldn't include desserts? Below are the perfect chewy chocolate chip cookies made GAPS style and Jr Mints Bars (the green is mashed avocado mixed with some honey and peppermint oil). SO yummy!

The farmer's market is our new favorite place ever! Last week's treasure:
11 squashes for only $5!! One was given to Lindsay for being cute. :) Pickling cucumbers, garlic, peppers and a GIANT cauliflower for only $2! Healthy eating doesn't have to be expensive.
Also, look! Orange cauliflower!!
Not only is Addison's health doing great, he's also doing AMAZING at coaching! Seriously, he is the BEST! He has a whole portfolio of compliments from parents, the kids adore him to no end and he's now in charge of the boys competitive teams. He has even started doing private lessons with Lindsay and she loves it! Even if she is sore for a week after one session with Addison, it's so much fun!! We go when the gym is closed and have fun! Learning tumbling skills, working on the beam, playing on the tramp, workouts and conditioning. It's awesome!

Summer 2015 has been a friend to the Halls. Life is great and we're falling more in love everyday. :)
